Hi, I’m Loren, an artist and designer in Long Beach, CA.

I was a painter first. Design came later, and I spent about 15 years building brands in tech until a layoff during early motherhood sent me back to the work that was always mine.

I paint ordinary objects, mostly as a way to make myself slow down and actually look at them. Coming back to blind contour drawing did the same thing. Drawing without watching your hand quiets the mind, and what comes out is loose, wrong in the right places, and very human. Now I draw the things I love that way. People I meet, people I love, objects I love.

I take design work, and I draw live portraits at events.
