Your event isn't beige.
Your portraits shouldn't be either.
Live, one-of-a-kind contour portraits, drawn and painted by hand. A little unexpected, a lot human.
when a photo booth won't do.
Birthday parties and showers, gallery openings, weddings and receptions, pop-ups, store openings, corporate events, dispensary launches, or any gathering of people worth drawing.
If there are good humans in the room, I'm in the right place.
what live contour
portraits actually are
Watch your guests’ likenesses captured in with lines. I draw each portrait on the spot, focusing on form and silhouette rather than heavy detail.
It is a unique live experience that gives your guests a perfectly imperfect custom piece of original art to take home.
what your guests walk away with
Every portrait is a 7×10 original, made live, start to finish, in about six minutes. No printing, no copies, no "I'll email it later." It's done in their hands and it's theirs.
Starting with a painted ground
I pre-paint each backdrop in waterproof acrylic ink and gouache, so the color is already humming before your guest sits down.
01
Next I draw the lines
The blind contour drawing, in waterproof pigment ink, drawn on the spot while I watch their face, not my hand.
02
Finishing with a wash of color
A wash of gouache and/or wax pastel, laid in live, bright and a little loud, so no two portraits ever match.

The hosts who book this want a keepsake of who was there, not just proof something happened. See if this sounds like you:
You want your guests to feel seen, not shuffled through a line.
You want them to leave with something real in their hands, not a photo they'll never print.
You love the little human details, the ones that make your people your people.
You'd rather have something a little unexpected and unforgettable than safe and seen-before.
If you nodded at even half of these, hi, we're going to get along great!
For hosts who sweat the details
I’m so grateful for the beautiful portrait Loren created for me. I'm a super awkward person when it comes down to even taking a picture with but with Loren’s bubbly personality and calming demeanor, I even forgot she was drawing me. The jokes helped a lot too. Her talent, attention to detail, and passion for her work truly shine through.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
No. I run a signup sheet with time slots, so guests pick a spot and go enjoy your event. Third on the list means come back in about eighteen minutes, since each portrait takes around six. They sit, we chat, and they leave with a finished piece. If your guest list runs bigger than the package covers, we'll add hours rather than leave people out.
-
Fill out the booking form with your date, location, and the package you're eyeing. I'll confirm availability and send next steps. e.g. deposit, logistics, payment, etc.
-
Very little. A small table, two chairs, for me and the guest, power source, and decent light. I bring materials, and pre-painted backgrounds.
-
A 50% deposit reserves your date, and the balance is due 14 days before your event. If plans change, your deposit is refundable up to 30 days before the event date.
-
I'm based in Long Beach, CA and cover Southern California. Anything past 30 miles is just quoted for travel, and discussed as we build out your event details.
-
About the footprint of a small table, plus room for a guest chair. I arrive 30 minutes before start to set up, and need about 20 minutes to pack down at the end.
-
Yes to both. The only ask is light: outdoors in daylight is lovely, and for evening or low-light spots, I just need a good light source near my table.
-
Each portrait is on sturdy 7x10, 300gsm cotton watercolor paper, dry enough to travel by the time it's handed over, and tucked into a small glassine sleeve to keep it clean on the way home. I'm happy to add a small custom sticker upon request.
-
Absolutely, this is one of my favorite parts. We can do custom stickers for the take-home sleeves, or your names, date, or logo printed right onto the paper. We'll sort out the details together on our planning call. Custom touches are an add-on, priced depending on what you'd like.
