The first time I did this, my drawing looked completely wrong.

And it was fucking perfect.

25 pages. warmups, timed prompts, and the rules that make it work. nothing to buy first. a pen and whatever paper is closest.

what live contour
portraits actually are

Watch your guests’ likenesses captured in with lines. I draw each portrait on the spot, focusing on form and silhouette rather than heavy detail.

It is a unique live experience that gives your guests a perfectly imperfect custom piece of original art to take home.

what your guests walk away with

Every portrait is a 7×10 original, made live, start to finish, in about six minutes. No printing, no copies, no "I'll email it later." It's done in their hands and it's theirs.

Starting with a painted ground
I pre-paint each backdrop in waterproof acrylic ink and gouache, so the color is already humming before your guest sits down.

Next I draw the lines
The blind contour drawing, in waterproof pigment ink, drawn on the spot while I watch their face, not my hand.

02

Finishing with a wash of color
A wash of gouache and/or wax pastel, laid in live, bright and a little loud, so no two portraits ever match.

For hosts who sweat the details

The hosts who book this want a keepsake of who was there, not just proof something happened. See if this sounds like you:

  • You want your guests to feel seen, not shuffled through a line.

  • You want them to leave with something real in their hands, not a photo they'll never print.

  • You love the little human details, the ones that make your people your people.

  • You'd rather have something a little unexpected and unforgettable than safe and seen-before.

If you nodded at even half of these, hi, we're going to get along great!

I’m so grateful for the beautiful portrait Loren created for me. I'm a super awkward person when it comes down to even taking a picture with but with Loren’s bubbly personality and calming demeanor, I even forgot she was drawing me. The jokes helped a lot too. Her talent, attention to detail, and passion for her work truly shine through.
