Small Rituals

Swap in an Unknown Hour detail crop
People have kept small rituals for as long as there have been people. I think it's one of the most human things we do.
Small Rituals is a series of still life paintings of the objects we keep. Some are mine, and some were shared with me by people who trusted me with them. Each one is photographed up close under a bright flash, then painted large in bold, glowing color. The light and color are my way of paying attention, and a little of the magic we put into these things ourselves.
Six originals and prints, dropping Monday, December 7.
